We often get emails from video content creators asking permission to create and monetize videos about the games published by Raw Fury. We wanted to provide a clear policy on this to save everyone the trouble of having to ask. Our stance is this:
You’re welcome to stream or create Let’s Play-style videos of games published by Raw Fury, and monetize them if you want. Music usage is covered below.
Raw Fury allows you to create free or ad-supported videos (including Let’s Plays, speed runs, reviews, commentary, and so on) using captured or streamed video from our video games. You do not need to request written permission to create such content.
Refuting claims: No entity has our permission to ‘demonetize’ your videos. If a claim is made against your content that does not originate from Raw Fury or from the development studio of the game displayed in your video, please refute the claim citing this policy. (Music usage is covered below.)
Crediting us: Should you decide to post videos containing content from games Raw Fury publish, we request that you provide a functional link to our site or a product page for any relevant versions of the game used in the making of said content. For example,
- Kingdom Two Crowns on Steam (steampowered.com)
- Kingdom Two Crowns – Raw Fury
- Star Trucker on Steam (steampowered.com)
- Star Trucker – Raw Fury
- Blue Prince on Steam (steampowered.com)
- Blue Prince – Raw Fury
- Moonstone Island on Steam (steampowered.com)
- Moonstone Island – Raw Fury
Creator Mode: if the platform or game you use for your videos has a Creator Mode, please use Creator Mode.
Using music from the games: We welcome you to use music from the games published by Raw Fury as part of live streams or videos about such games, but because we do not always own all rights to this music, we would like to ask that you give proper credit to the composer and performer of the soundtrack, and in case of doubt, that you contact the composer directly, use Creator Mode or mute the soundtrack.
Unauthorized Uses: Raw Fury does not condone video and other content that is illegal, racist, sexist, prejudicial to sexual orientation, sexually explicit, disparaging, promotes hate crimes, or is otherwise offensive is not tolerated. Any publishing of in-game content from sources such as leaked copies of a game prior to its official release date will be removed.
Please note that we reserve the right to update this policy without notice or liability. We will always post the updated version on this page.
Thank you for reading! Note that our team generally is not available to evaluate or approve individual inquiries related to video content or music use, which is part of the reason we created this policy. Should you have any questions about this policy, please contact legal@rawfury.com.
We hope this policy enables many creators to keep making the kinds of inspiring work we’ve been seeing for years.
Good luck with your projects!
