The Atomic Farmer #1

Welcome to the very first edition of The Atomic Farmer!

This is a weekly blog where we’ll be sharing all things Atomicrops, the action-packed roguelite farming simulator from Bird Bath Games.

Back in September, we released our roadmap. Since then, the team have been hard at work on Ghosts ‘n Gourds, the first major update for the game.

Spooky, isn't it?

You’ll be able to get your hands on the Ghosts ‘n Gourds update on October 24. With Halloween right around the corner, decorations are in place to match.

This isn’t just a visual update though. It comes with a slew of changes and exciting new content.

100% more character!

Rye is a new playable character with a heavy focus on combat. He’s a mechanic who comes equipped with some pretty nifty bonuses.

His weapons last for full days, rather than breaking after only one.

He also comes equipped with a Turret at the start of the game, granting you some extra defense against those pesky enemies.

We haven’t forgotten about Lavender either. She’s taken up the profession of a Beekeeper and features a few appropriately awesome farming bonuses.

  • Her crops grow 20% quicker
  • She starts the game with two Bees, which will speed up the growth of individual crops even further

Introducing... Norman!

Last month we ran a poll on the Official Discord Channel to determine which new love interest would be added to the game.

Furryosa took the lead at first, until Norman slowly snatched the crown as players decided they’d much rather marry a flying insect of sorts. We’ll talk more about Norman next week!

What else?

We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of all the new changes coming in Ghosts ‘n Gourds. Full patch notes will be posted along with the update next week.

You’ll have scarecrows to place, pumpkins to blow up, new upgrades to purchase, a new year to complete and much more.

Until then, we’ve put together a little sneak peek for you:
