Balance, Tweaks & Fixes

Reworked the save/load feature for saving a game mid run – a crash should restore the player’s progress to last time they were in town

Bug fix – potential spouses could offer duplicate upgrades which would have no affect if the player already has the upgrade
Bug fix – after saving and loading, gun could not be upgraded
Bug fix – sound playing during loading screen – causes unpleasant skipping sound. All sound is now muted during loading and music is started when loading is completed
Bug fix – final boss dialog and intro sequence now starts after loading is complete

- Bug fix - Eating 2 or more time mushrooms at dusk would prevent dusk phase from ending
- Bug fix - Permanent upgrade "Gain more cornicopias at season festival." was not working
- Bug fix - "Bosses drop cornicopias" was not working
- Bug fix - rain cloud invisible issue fixed
- Bug fix - When you harvest crops during Corpse-a-copia fight, all vegetables are small
- Performance - Much better load times (initial load will still be long)
- Bug fix - Permanent upgrade "Keep a random upgrade from your previous run if you survived until X" fixed

June 5, 2020 – Patch 1.0.21

 

Balance, Tweaks & Fixes

#Balance
- Removed moles from day 1 and 2 in year 1 and reduced overall mole spawns
- Added extra starting heart to year 1
These changes should make for a less intense starting experience for new players, while retaining late-game challenge.

- Added a brief period of safety when using a gopher hole to travel to and from the biomes
- Player is now invincible as soon as town return countdown starts and the game pauses earlier in the level load sequence
These changes should mitigate cases of players taking damage in a situation outside of their control.

- performance - reduced some lag spikes when entering biomes
- performance - reduced lag spikes in farmhouse and town scenes
- Added intro cinematic
- bug fix - cursor no longer appears during load 
- bug fix - Sow Shield doesn't work - all bullet destroying effects broken
- bug fix - player can take damage when level load starts
- bug fix - pause screen not pausing game if pressed while level is loading - pausing is now not possible during load to avoid this issue
- exploit - fixed exploit with permanent upgrade "find  tractors fully charged" that would allow infinite tractor charges by continually swapping tractors

December 19, 2019 – Ant Farm Content Update – 0.13.2f4

Gameplay

  • Added Permanent Upgrades
    • Rescue Ant builders in the wild to bring them back to your farmhouse
    • Each builder offers their own unique permanent upgrades
  • Farmhouse 2.0
    • Purchasing permanent upgrades will repair and rebuild your broken farmhouse, eventually turning it in to a beautiful home for you and your cats.
  • Added the option to Save & Load a run.
    • The game can be saved whilst in Town, and then loaded at a later date.
  • Added a restart button to the pause menu

Hotfix Patch – 0.13.2f5

  • Fixed a bug where shop loot wouldn’t properly reset each day.

November 27, 2019 – Bramble Patch Content Update – 0.12.4f1

Gameplay

  • Added four new enemy types
  • Overhauled enemy camps for more variety
  • Revamped bulb bosses, with increasingly difficult bosses in higher level areas
  • Added Year 3
  • New rare crop: Sunflower
    • Fertilize to keep it growing taller for big rewards
    • Automatically harvested after 30 seconds
  • New upgrade – Herbicide Blood: killing enemies destroys a patch of weeds
  • New upgrade – Fertile Eggs: chicken eggs have a chance to hatch a new chicken when collected
  • New upgrade – Weed Harvesting: weeds become harvestable, earning a profit
  • Inventory Changes
    • Improved auto-select: When a crop is used up in the inventory, a seed from the same tier will attempt to be auto selected first. Special seeds (pumpkins, roses, sunflowers) will be auto selected last, and will require the work button to be released and pressed again to avoid accidentally planting special crops.

Balance

  • Most enemies have been rebalanced
  • Years have been rebalanced and should now feel more different in terms of difficulty.
  • Farming stat now decreases tractor cooldown
  • Scarecrows are now sometimes for sale in town
  • Increased aggro distance for enemies slightly
  • When enemies enter aggro because player is too close, they will notify nearby enemies
  • Camp Bundits are more aggressive
  • Balanced hidden bulbs loot drops
  • Increased winter boss night duration
  • Added new, higher level Beeson that drop more fertilizer
  • Increased overall day length by 10%
  • Loot Gooses now drop a rare seed
  • Horse has been moved from the Rare Loot Pool to Common, making it easier to obtain
  • Trees are no longer dropped from the “Thankful Crops” upgrade
  • Squirrel Gun rework
    • Squirrel gun will no longer spawn on last day of season
    • Squirrel gun bullets accelerate faster and have decreased initial backwards velocity
    • Squirrel gun “bullets” will no longer collide with walls when initially fired, which should prevent them getting stuck in tight spaces
    • Squirrel gun has improved chance to drop rare seeds and trees.
  • Large pumpkin explosions are now much larger

Fixes

  • Enemies can no longer spawn on player
  • Winter boss can no longer be invincible when retreating at dawn
  • Air Freshener (Energize on tractor use) no longer enables energize infinitely
  • Enemies play correct hit animations

October 24, 2019 – Ghosts ‘n Gourds Content Update – 0.11.3f4

Gameplay

    • Rye is a Mechanic

Balance

  • New AI for the basic Bundits that attack at night. They attack in bursts then retreat briefly.
  • Bosses no longer vanish immediately at dawn. There is a short grace period before the escape.
  • Final Boss now increases in difficulty over time
  • Added additional dangers during final boss encounter
  • Locusts no longer hurt the player
  • Cleats, Double-Edged Watering Can and Horse can now only be found in golden bulbs (previously golden chests)
  • Added an All Stats Upgrade to golden bulbs
  • Reworked damage dealt to final boss from crops. Valuable crops do much more damage.
  • Reworked final boss demon vegetable’s AI
  • Final boss demon vegetables now drop fertilizer
  • Increased final boss health
  • Increased Fall & Winter boss health
  • Added more possible stat upgrades to the item pool
  • Weed Wacker tractor cooldown reduced to 90s from 120s
  • Moles now retreat at dusk
  • All bullets are now destroyed at dusk

Fixes

  • ‘Need Water’ indicator is now visible on large crops
  • Gopher holes for travelling to and from the farm now close during final boss encounter
  • Love interests no longer show a blank info box when player is already married
  • Fixed an issue where various actions (such as cutting weeds) were only dropping tier 1 seeds. They now properly drop varied tiers based on season.

Gameplay

  • Increased amount of cornucopias rewarded during later seasons
